Specifically, it focuses on calcination and kiln processes, which are critical for these industries. The project seeks to develop and optimize technologies that will increase resource efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This will be achieved through:
1) Advanced pre- processing techniques for raw materials to optimize process performance.
2) Simulations and decision-support systems to enhance flexibility in processing different types of raw materials.
3) Development of digital twins for each process, combining simulations with AI models.
4) Waste reduction and reuse strategies, enabling real-time process adjustments to changes in raw materials.

Collaboration

The PRIM-ROCK consortium comprises 7 SMEs, 6 research centers, 3 universities, and 5 large enterprises. Its goals include improving resource efficiency by over 30% for each use case, avoiding 770,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, increasing productivity by 9-16%, and creating over 1,360 new jobs by 2033 .
